How can I reduce static electricity while sliding?

Static electricity occurs mainly with dry air, certain floor surfaces, and clothing or shoes made from unfavorable material blends. A humidity level of about 40 percent usually helps significantly. A small hygrometer is enough to keep an eye on that value. In low humidity, you should also avoid rubber soles. Another proven option is to place aluminum foil under the area around the Slide Runout and, if needed, under adjacent Tubes or Connectors. Aluminum can dissipate the charge more effectively, reducing the effect that makes clothing cling or crackle while sliding.
